Setting Up Your Trucking Business Email Address?

We have all heard the expression "Work Smart Not Hard." Yet when I was working for a Freight Factoring Company, my job was to work with individuals who were brand new to Trucking and were in the process of setting up their business, and I saw that 50% of people were using an email address at @hotmail.com, @AOL.com, @yahoo.com, etc. I believe this is a huge mistake. You need to be using a Gmail email address because of cross-system integration.
The reason I suggest every owner-operator use Gmail for their businesses email address is because your Google Username and Password will automatically be saved in Google and you'll be able to log in and out of multiple websites much more easily, which is what you're going to be doing on a daily basis anyway (this makes things more simple for you). If you do this, it will help you work smarter and make things easier, I guarantee it. If you can do a bunch of little things 100% correctly, your Trucking operation is going to run a lot smoother and you're going to have less frustration and ultimately earn more money.
You're going to be logging in and out of tons of websites & tools that you're going to need to use daily to run your Trucking Business. You'll be logging in and out of load boards like DAT.com, TruckStop.com, 123LoadBoard.com, MyVirtualFleet.com, etc., and if you have different passwords for all those load boards, are you going to be able to remember them all on the fly when your driving in traffic, filling out carrier packets, answering phone calls, and checking brokers credit scores? I don't think I could... That's why I would suggest using Gmail because of the system integration into all these websites and tools that you're going to be using daily. Gmail is going to be integrated into these other websites and tools and will save your info so you'll easily be able to log in and out and do what you need to do as quickly as you need to do it. However, if you're using a Yahoo or Hotmail email address, that integration won't be there and your operation will run that much slower because you are now splitting hairs.
I tell everyone in this business you can make a killing if you A.) are good communicator, B.) have excellent time management, C.) and can pay attention to the little details... That's it! That's all it takes to make over $300,000 yearly running 1 Truck. I have seen it over and over again firsthand... That's all it takes. But you need to take the time to master your tools. Start efficiently utilizing the free tools you have access to. That means if you have an opportunity to take a 4 step process and turn it into 1 step, for example using Gmail to speed up doing the little things, then you're going to be able to work faster and accomplish more which results in earning more money.
