These are the people you need to know that are going to work with you not for you. You want a team of people that you can call after hours and on the weekends to help you when you find yourself scratching your head, needing questions answered, and will help you in emergencies. If you need these contacts, which you should, call me and I'll help connect you with good people.

Compliance RepSets up the DOT/MC/files IFTA paperwork/etc. (Call me, I can recommend someone.)
Insurance RepNeeded — 100k cargo, and 1M liability. (Call me, I can recommend someone.)
Factoring RepProcesses your Rate Con's for same-day deposits, and advises you on the business. (Call me — I am one.)
DispatcherHelps you get your first load and get off the starting line. Trains you how to book your loads and find consistent dedicated freight. (Call me, I can recommend someone.)
AccountantEnd of year taxes for your LLC. (Call me, I can recommend someone.)

Plus — a positive attitude, persistence, and being tenacious. You need to be willing to try new things and learn through experiences. A lot of this business has to be learned through firsthand experiences, and that's how people become successful. They're willing to try new things, and fail, but learn from their mistakes — nobody learns anything from doing something right the first time.

At the end of the day, anybody can be successful in this business, as long as they have three key characteristics… Are you somebody that pays attention to the details? Do you have outstanding time management? Are you an outstanding communicator? If you're above average in all these categories, you'll be a rockstar in this business.
